Port Of Orte Logistic Centre
The Orte Interporto Logistic Centre is still under construction (total surface approximately 400.000 square metres) and will probably come completed towards the end of 2008.
This strategic infrastructure is placed in the territory of Orte Municipality, in direct connection with the Highway Milano-Naples and the E45 route, that represents a primary connection in the exchanges between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian northern areas.
The location is close to the railway line Orte-Falconara, which allows the connection with the railway system.
The area is also connected:
- with the Orte train station, one of the more important railway joint In Italy (line Naples-Rome-Florence-Bologna- Milan TEN-T axis 1),
- with a direct connection (“ interconnessione AV ”) with the High Speed Rail system, capable to operate freight transport.
The new logistic centre constitute a first step towards the “Central Italy Logistic Platform” and to a rebalancing of the logistics centres in Italy, where in the central and southern part there is a lack of such infrastructures.
